This lens mount adapter enables the use of Lens Savers® in Precitec cutting heads with 1.5" diameter focusing lenses in cassette style lens mounts found in Finn Power, Mitsubishi and other OEM systems. In the 3.75" and 5" FL versions, a wave spring replaces the brass slotted spring in the Precitec lens mount. The Lens Savers® window, which is drilled, sits beneath the wave spring and in front of the focusing lens. The wave spring and the rest of the components are held in place by a stainless steel male threaded retaining ring. The holes in the Lens Savers® window must be at least partially exposed to allow assist gas to flow through the Lens Saver® into a cavity between it and the focusing lens. These holes allow the pressure to equalize on both sides of the window. The cavity is created by sitting a spacer between the Lens Savers® and the focusing lens. This patented pressure equalization method prevents breakage of the window.
