This new adapter enables the use of Lens Savers® with Tanaka laser systems employing 2.5" diameter lens mounts. The Lens Savers® adapter attaches to the end of the Tanaka OEM lens mount. A 2.5" diameter Lens Savers window (Part No. 0002B-6692) is used with the adapter. The adapter creates a small cavity between the Lens Savers® window and the lens and will cause the assist gas to flow into the cavity. The assist gas flow created by the adapter cools the lens and also equalizes the pressure on both surfaces of the Lens Savers® window which prevents the window from breaking regardless how high the assist gas pressure may be. To attach the adapter to the lens mount requires that the OEM lens mount be tapped. ICL can do this for the customer or ICL will request a drawing with specifications for tapping the OEM lens mount which will accompany the adapter.
